Abstract

The importance of the research lies in the fact that it is a serious scientific and practical attempt to use modern teaching models, including (Driver’s Model), which the researcher believes has a positive impact on contemplative thinking and learning some basic football skills for students. The problem of the research is not using modern teaching models and strategies and limiting it to one method despite the presence of modern methods, models and strategies, which prompted the researcher to prepare educational units according to Driver’s model and find out its effect on contemplative thinking and learning some basic football skills for students. The objectives of the research are to prepare a measure of reflective thinking and educational units according to Driver’s model, learn some basic football skills for students, and identify the significance of the differences between the two groups. As for the second chapter, the researcher touched on theoretical studies related to the research. As for the third chapter, the researcher used the experimental method in the manner of two equal groups (experimental and control) with a pre- and post-test. The research population was determined for first-year students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al Ain University for the academic year (2023-2024). The research sample amounted to (40) students by (20) students for each section, constituting 41.23 )% ) of the research population. The sample was chosen randomly and by lottery. Section (B) was chosen as a control group that works according to the method used by the teacher, and Section (C) was chosen as an experimental group that works according to the (Driver) model. . As for the fourth chapter, the results of the research were presented, analyzed and discussed, and showed that there was an improvement in the experimental group that worked according to the (Driver) model, and the percentage of improvement was clear in the level of contemplative thinking for the basic skills in football (handling - putting down - rolling.) As for the fifth chapter, the researcher reached several conclusions that showed the development of the experimental group that worked according to the (Driver) model over the control group that worked according to the method followed by the teacher. As for the recommendations, the researcher recommends adopting the educational units according to the (Driver) model and applying it to other skills and samples.
